The Six of Cups

The six of cups are so many things to me that it's meaning in a reading weighs heavily on other cards in the spread to bring out it's essence.

Pleasure is one way of reading this card. It is better to give than receive! What pleasure do we derive from the gifts that we give others, no matter what those gifts are, or even if those gifts are from the material realm? And Karma, playing it forward, random acts of kindness, where do these actions lead in the long run?

Another way of reading this card is nostalgia. The past showing it self in so many positive ways. Childhood memories, past loves, past lives. What it it about the past that seems to be relevant in a reading, how does this card effect the reading?

Reversal: Is it just a lessened aspect of the card, or is it the past coming back to haunt you. Cause and effect, what have you done in the past that seems now to be effecting you in the present. Too much of a good thing is not always pleasant. Did you maybe over do it just a bit? Dwelling on the past.
